After a long and successful career in the broadcast television industry, producing and directing award-winning short form television (promos, commercials, showreels) for the BBC, Channel Four, CNN and CNBC, I have decided to take my eye for a good image and apply it to my first love – stills photography.
I’m based in South London and also just outside Wells in Somerset, and I specialise in people pictures – informal and formal portraits, weddings, families and children. My aim is to produce photographs with a fresh approach to often familiar subjects. I am equally happy on location working mostly by available light, or in your home, or in the more controlled (and reliable!) environment of the studio in Somerset. Ultimately, my goal is to deliver pictures to you that capture the emotion of the moment.
My shoots are always relaxed and fun, and never hurried. Often I work on my own, but for bigger shoots I can pull in additional resource – props, art-work, sets etc. For formal portrait work I will always recommend the use of a good make-up artist, but you may prefer to do this yourself.
This site exhibits some of my recent projects and is largely self-explanatory. Two portfolios – “Our Designed World” and “Sun, Sea and Sky” – are collections of photographs that I have taken for myself, themes that seem to attract my inquisitive eye!
